Lake Geneva slipways and cranes

Updated 17.10.2026

Launching from a trailer or by crane: the slipways and cranes around the lake, and what to check before you come.

What you need to know

65 slipways: 28 confirmed by their harbour's official page, 37 recorded only in OpenStreetMap (they exist on the collaborative map, but no official page mentions them). And 23 harbours where an official source confirms the crane.

  • A slipway may charge a fee, be reserved for residents or be closed in winter, and neither the gradient nor the depth at the foot is guaranteed: call the harbour warden before you come with a trailer.
  • A crane's lifting capacity isn't always published, and some are reserved for professionals: cranes are booked through the harbour warden.
